HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
News from the Summit 2023
A few members of our team had the privilege of attending this year’s Prevention Summit in Spokane, WA. Both our Wenatchee and Waterville Coalitions were able to take a group of students (a total of 17 students), allowing them to become empowered to aid in peer-to-peer prevention efforts within their schools and communities. With combined keynote sessions, as well as individual workshops, there was a lot of opportunity to learn.
Some of the key take aways included incorporating QPR Training into existing programs such as 4-H to make a bigger impact on Mental Health Awareness and Suicide Prevention outside of Hope Squad, the new Friends for Life Campaign that focuses on partnering with our youth on opioid and fentanyl prevention with messaging our youth helped create, and creating Healthy Outcomes from Positive Experiences (H.O.P.E) – turning adversity into positivity, to create an extraordinary life.
We are excited to discuss all that was learned, what might work best in our community, and start brainstorming how to implement these strategies into our communities and schools.
And check out the fun photo booth favorite of our Administrative Assistant and Waterville Coalition Coordinator!!!

On Saturday, October 28th, our AmeriCorps team members, along with their whole group, partnered with the Wenatchee Valley YMCA for this year’s Make a Difference Day Service Project. Together, the groups traveled up to the YMCA Camp in Lake Wenatchee for some winter preparations.
Our TOGETHER AmeriCorps members spent their day raking up all the pine needles and creating burn piles to aid in spring fire prevention. Great job, team!
